catsup

I haven't been posting in awhile — due an absolutely insane fall schedule — so today's a bit of a catchup day for me. Therefore, there may be another post right after this one, even though it's the same day. Dear dear, whatever will we do? Live with it, I guess. These pictures are from the same day when we snapped those other photos of Lisa Dworkin, my birthday, Sept. 12. Considering it's now November…uhh…anyway, the redhead is Andrea, and the blonde is Sarah, and you know me! (I hope)

In other news, I'm officially booked: I'm going to see Team StarKid (makers of A Very Potter Musical) on November 13 in Ann Arbor, Michigan! My friend Sarah (seen here in blue in the last photo) and I are rabid TSK fans, and we absolutely cannot wait to go. Now to choose an outfit…

My outfit:
Sweater: Blue boatneck sweater, H&M
Skirt: Floral satin skirt, Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Disco ball rhinestone necklace, American Eagle
Shoes (not pictured): Blue Converse

Andrea's outfit:
Dress: Floral print, lace-backed dress, Target
Cardigan: H&M

mona lisa

My friends and I were out and about Little Italy for my birthday (September 12), and we stumbled upon this adorable girl working at La Dolce Vita, a classy corner bistro. Lisa Dworkin had positively the best outfit I've seen in awhile, so I asked to take her picture. She humbly obliged, and as I snapped some photos we talked about her clothes and why I'd decided to start a fashion blog. She was incredibly nice and I was extremely grateful for her cooperation! If you're reading this, Lisa, thank you! Maybe sometime I can do a spotlight-interview?

All in all, it was a good birthday day. Thanks again, Lisa!

Lisa's outfit
Skirt: American Apparel candy striped skirt (which I saw when we went into their Coventry store!)
Cardigan: The Limited
Top: thrifted nighttime button-down
Shoes: Aldo
Necklace: J. Crew

nowhere to go

I was feeling fashionable a few mornings ago, with a visit to coblogger Ann Marie's house in the works for a few hours after these pictures were taken. But, to my disappointment, I was informed that yes, indeed, it was simply too hot to wear my sort-of sweater outside. Summer, I love you, but please take a hasty leave — autumn allows for so many more options!

Oh, and hopefully this affinity to peace signs will be gone soon…a friend of a friend said to me outright: "Your belt is tacky!" But hey, it's good to promote love for one another, right?

Sweater: Navy-grey dolman, H&M
Shorts: Pink 3.5 inches, Old Navy
Belt: Black with gold peace sign, Kohl's
Pearls: Vintage from my mommy
Peace sign necklace: Lion and Blue, Lakewood boutique

P.S. One quick footnote: Check out this super cute cardigan from ModCloth. I mostly love it because it's named after one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands — "Love Like a Sunset," Phoenix. You can always count on ModCloth for an adorable dosage of fantastic fashion.
