from our heads to our toes

new shoes, new year, new class, new friends, new problems, new worries, new hopes, new desires, new shoes.

new school year starts the day after tomorrow, and I'm excited but worried about what year ahead of me holds. starting that day I'm going to take pictures of all the outfits I wear, just for you guys, every morning. sigh my mornings will be empty without my usual panicking of getting up on time, going somewhere on time and making sure I'm doing my best on time.

but I've bought myself a new watch to keep it all in order, it should arrive soon, even as i type this post the UPS truck drives by... Its almost been a week since I ordered it. darn you Rumba.

they named a city after us

On Wednesday, Ann Marie and I took a trip downtown to take some photos for a guest blogger spot on The Button Owl. It was a hot day, and we were extremely tired by the time we were finished, but the outcome was good! Cleveland can be a dreary, boring, ugly city sometimes. If you look in the right places (see: 4th Street!), though, you can find some brilliant spots.

My outfit
Top: Heather grey t-shirt, American Apparel
Skirt: Floral peplum pencil skirt, Forever 21
Shoes: Black lace flats, Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Swooping swallow and pearl necklace, local arts fest

Ann Marie's outfit
Top: Ruffle neck tank top, Forever 21
Jeans: Blue jeans, thrifted
Shoes: Peach lace flats, Urban Outfitters (same as mine!)
Cuff: Metal lighthouse cuff, thrifted

magical

I find that Magic is an aspect in all fashion, but particularly this summer. From the premier of Alice in Wonderland (which I am yet to see) and the various articles about Mia Wasikowska the world is buzzing about magic.

Mia's new cut is somewhat reminiscent of Twiggy. If only my begging would make my mother let me get all my hair cut too.

must be off I'm late for a very important date.

happy wednesday!

Quick one today. Just a few photos from our local Arts Fest, which was last Saturday, taken by the wonderful, fantastic Lily. And yeah, that's a Harry Potter scar on my forehead.

Which brings me to the last picture…A Very Potter Musical/Sequel made Entertainment Weekly on the Must List! I got the magazine the other day and was totally thrilled as though I was a part of the team myself. Congrats, Team Starkid, you deserve it! Check out the musical here, and the sequel here. You can find TeamStarkid on Twitter here, along with Darren Criss, who plays Harry Potter, here.

style spotlight: emma watson

Emma Watson has got to be one of the most beautiful women in fashion/movies/stars today. She recently wrapped filming for the last Harry Potter movie, after ten years working as Hermione Granger alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint: Part II of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." A short while after, she got a drastic pixie haircut, which received a considerable amount of backlash. Personally, I love her new 'do — so fashionable! Too bad we don't all have the bravery (and the face) to pull it off. Before she cut off her locks, she even modeled for Burberry along with her brother.

Emma is also entering her sophomore year at Brown University this fall. Jealous, anyone? Brown is definitely one of the schools I aim to apply for, but seeing her go there almost makes me hesitant. She's a human being, like any of us, and she certainly has the funds to go to an Ivy League school, but do we all have to be celebrities to get into the schools of our choice — namely Ivy League? Anyway, I'm quite happy for her, and glad she's getting back into the swing of sort-of normal life. I just hope she doesn't quit acting entirely. I would like to see her in a few other roles besides book-keen Hermione. Best wishes to her, no matter WHAT her hair looks like.

Visit Emma's Facebook page here.

P.S. Who else is right excited for the newest installment in the Harry Potter series? I know I am — I've been hurrying up in trying to finish the whole series before November 19. With the tagline being "It All Ends Here," along with the waiting for the second part (July 15, 2011), and Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) as the first-listed character on IMDb, there is no shortage of goosebumps here. Can't wait!
