hemingway

This is my new kitty, her name is Hemingway.
Now your asking, why Hemingway?
because, Earnest Hemingway was an American author who bread cats with 5 claws!
Yes my new cat has 5 claws!
haha, sorry i couldnt get a good picture of her paws, she was going crazy with the cat nip toy.

the photographer

top; urban outfitters ($10), cardigan; old navy (my sissy's), dress; wet seal ($20), jeans; thrifted delias ($2), shoes;thrifted Mary Jane dance shoes thrifted($2), bag; estate sale ($1), scarf; thrifted ($1).

This is a new experiment of mine; over the break i thought i would choose an ornament and construct an outfit around it. quite a challenge. So i oped out of the Santa Clause ornaments, and went for this wonderful camera we had hanging near the top.

So, who remembers this dress from anywhere?
how about here

well i look pretty awful in this photo, but I think this outfit suits this dress (I use dress loosely because it is far to short to even wear as a dress anymore).

Since today was the start of a fantastic holiday break I thought I should post an other snap shot of summer. I am taking a break from the pictures of camp Christopher and have moved to the island in lake erie, named Catawba.

summer part 3

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that this picture is the perfect mixture of an Indian an a little bit of fortune teller; maybe it comes from the eyes.

I love this picture, there is nothing more to say.

thank you

It warms my heart
That Christmas is on the way
That I have a wonderfully odd family
that I have food upon my table
That I am wearing sparkly nail polish

This thanksgiving was a wonderful one, with plenty of food and plenty of family. I thought I should take some time to share what I am thankful for. I spent the last two days with family making holiday cookies and decorating for the holidays, right now my dining room is full of paper snowflakes and paper chains, I swear there is a whole tree taped to the ceiling. There will be pictures later! So how was your thanksgiving?

summer:part one

This part one of the series of photos taken by my brother Andrew. You may have noticed that I steal a lot of my clothes from him, he isn't just good for that! Andrew is a photography major at the moment and is in his second year of college.
Over the summer he has accumulated some photos of me. this is the first; taken at Camp Christopher, while i was eating a Popsicle.

so what are your plans for thanksgiving?

y uno mas

Possible header fonts? Emailing Ann Marie now. We did just change it, though…decisions, decisions. In quick other news, may or may not just have broken my laptop. It's all good.

inspiration theft

In searching for Thanksgiving decoration ideas, I stumbled across the cutest DIY paper blog by Elise. Her stuff is adorable, and I'm in the process of making some strip pumpkins to hang over the dinner table (pictures to come soon!). I'm feeling crafty, and I just needed to start doing something creative. Plus, I have a big thing for cool paper and her blog just makes me want to dash out to the stationary store right now and spend all my money on fun paper. Dahh.

Anyway, I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night @ the midnight premiere — IT WAS AWESOME. I'm going to see it again fo sho. And It just made me even more excited for Part 2. Can't. Wait.

Find me on Twitter!

tonight i drink tea

Shirt, Borrowed from Andrew, Jeans, Old Navy (thrifted) 2.00, Boots (Deena and Ozzy) 20.00

If you where a frame on my self this is what you would have seen on Monday night. Me sitting in my grandma chair, drinking my chamomile tea while gawking at my lovely new knickknacks. I'm sure some people would look at my little pink urn and ask who's ashs where in it (my mother is one of those people) but now it holds my change.

In other news I have successfully made fondant!

had to add these

Lily is so darn photogenic. I'm done. Happy day!

happy saturday

So, these pictures are also from awhile ago, but not as long as the others. Lily and I went out to Lakewood Park for a photoshoot and it was freezing. It was about six thirty on a chilly October night — I still don't understand how Lily went without her jacket for so long. Anyway, Lily's the true fashionista in these pictures (we didn't get many of me), but I don't know where her outfit came from. I'll do a little guesswork, but if Lily corrects me I'll fix the tags.

Ps. Remember the first picture from anywhere? Dot dot dot. :)

P.P.S. If you click on the photos, they enlarge and are much prettier. ;)

My outfit:
Headband: Sequined headband, given to me by the Rangerettes
Necklaces: Cross necklace, H&M; disco ball necklace, American Eagle
Dress: Bow tie black chiffon dress, Urban Outfitters
Tights: Houndstooth black tights, American Eagle

Lily's outfit:
Dress: Candy striped housewife dress, thrifted
Pin: Nautical brooch, thrifted
(a lotta guesswork there, huh?)

catsup

I haven't been posting in awhile — due an absolutely insane fall schedule — so today's a bit of a catchup day for me. Therefore, there may be another post right after this one, even though it's the same day. Dear dear, whatever will we do? Live with it, I guess. These pictures are from the same day when we snapped those other photos of Lisa Dworkin, my birthday, Sept. 12. Considering it's now November…uhh…anyway, the redhead is Andrea, and the blonde is Sarah, and you know me! (I hope)

In other news, I'm officially booked: I'm going to see Team StarKid (makers of A Very Potter Musical) on November 13 in Ann Arbor, Michigan! My friend Sarah (seen here in blue in the last photo) and I are rabid TSK fans, and we absolutely cannot wait to go. Now to choose an outfit…

My outfit:
Sweater: Blue boatneck sweater, H&M
Skirt: Floral satin skirt, Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Disco ball rhinestone necklace, American Eagle
Shoes (not pictured): Blue Converse

Andrea's outfit:
Dress: Floral print, lace-backed dress, Target
Cardigan: H&M

"you look like an 80's rockstar or something" -my dearest mother

sweater, stolen from Andrew (free), white skinny jeans, thrifted ($.75), purple converse, Payless ($40.00)

When deciding what to wear, on almost any day, thoughts go through my head.
what are other people going to say?
are white skinny jeans really all that cute?
hmmm...do I really want to wear that?
Is this too extreme?
and the list goes on. But today was a different day. today only one thing went through my head.
I am going to wear this, whatever.
perhaps this had something to do with the fact that I woke up with a stomach ache today at 6:00 and then walked to a play at a local arts center, and come home to fall asleep during my cherished hour of Ellen.

maybe I'm just a little tired today.

Also I wold also like to keep you updated on my blossoming radish plant. I bought this is the dollar isle at target.
"Hanna should i really buy this dumb radish thingy?"
"Yea, I'll buy one too, it will be fun."
"these things never work though"
"its only a dollar we will each buy two, who cares?"
"whatever"

so i bought this radish plant and a "cone-flower plant" and my radish plant is almost 2 inches tall. only one more inch till I have to transfer it to another pot. That will be interesting.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2010

Once again I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Everything is very chaotic. But Halloween is coming up and fall is already here, so I thought I would post Alexander McQueen's Fall 2010 collection. Last year I dressed as a Greek goddess and I found this collection rather reminiscent.

This week has been crazy. On Tuesday a tornado was very close to my town so we were all held in the tornado position for half an hour. It was crazy.

could it get any worse?

well have to wait and see.

till we meet again,
Ann Marie
